Extreme Religion!

Oh my GOD! PEOPLE ARE CRAZY! I didn’t believe the crazy things people did in the name of religion until I saw it with my own eyes! All over the world, to get their gods respect, people hurt themselves to show devotion. I don’t know how they came up with that silly idea… but they did! I would never do that!

In India, I watched as a man had a metal skewer stuck into his cheeks so it went in one side and came out the other. THEN he carried a one hundred pound burden for his god and walked for 5 hours until he reached the temple where he would pray to his god. But first he had to climb 272 stairs! These men are super devoted to their gods!

Very devoted… because also in India, there is a holy temple where people live with rats because they believe the rats are their ancestors. That’s right, they live and eat and sleep with the diseased vermin that killed almost 70% of Europe during the Middle Ages with the bubonic plague they caused. They let rats eat the banana they’re eating or drink the milk they’re about to drink because they respect their “ancestors.” Also, when they die they believe they will be resurected as rats and then return to human form after that! These people and their strange beliefs! In the Phillipines, there is a militia that practically kill their followers to get God’s protection. To make themselves apparently “invincible” they allow themselves to be chopped with a razor sharp machete. If they survive, then they can join the group and they will have God’s protection. Later on, they have tiny “amulets” implanted in their skin that make them “invincible.” Apparently when you get shot when you have the amulets in you, the bullets bounce right off. ZOMG! Religion!
